Find an affordable hotel no matter where you want to travel

Planning to travel somewhere but you are afraid the hotel rates will burn a hole in your pocket? That’s not the case if you are checking out the latest deals. And best of all: you can travel all over the world. Choice Hotels® can be found at over 5,000 locations open and under development around the world.

Hotel deals in the US

How about heading to New York to do the Christmas Shopping? Rates at this hotel located in Manhattan start at $139 per night. It is a boutique hotel offering excellent facilities, including free wi-fi. Each room features a workspace, TV and phone.

If you prefer a warmer destination, why not plan a vacation in San Francisco? Room rates start at $69 per night. There’s complimentary wi-fi in the rooms. The rooms also feature fridge, AC, TV and iron board. The hotel also offers fitness center, restaurant and bar.

Hotel deals in Europe

Over the Big Pond, winter is knocking on the door and with it the prices in many cities are at their lowest, unless you head to a mountain resort. In Paris hotel rates are as low as €47 per night. Of course, you need to get to Paris first. So, look for a cheap flight to Paris while you are browsing the hotels.

The hotels in the ski regions are not yet very expensive but the reason is quite simple: there isn’t enough snow yet. With some luck from Mother Nature, by Christmas it’s probably possible to ski in the majority of European ski regions. So, if your plans include having fun on the slopes, look for hotels in the ski regions ahead of time. You can stay in Innsbruck for prices starting at €39 per person, per night.

Hotel deals in Asia

Asia is the exotic destination where many of us go to escape the oh-so-familiar mother land and to gain new experiences. In Thailand, for example, room rates start at $32 per night per person. And if you happen to not like cold weather, Thailand is the best place to visit.

Get Ready to Fly Anywhere You Want

airplane-departingIsn’t it amazing when you can find absolutely incredible deals which offer the possibility to fly anywhere in the world? Fancy visiting the upcoming Christmas Markets in Europe? No problem, there’s a flight deal for you just round the corner! How about a trip to Thailand? Solved! Airfare is incredibly affordable. Or you probably want to do your Christmas Shopping in Dubai. No problem, we’ve got the best deal for you. Lowest International Airfares Economy Travel

Really, is this possible?

Remember we were talking about the economic crisis and its effects on travel? One of the effects is linked to the flight prices. The lack of customers have made airlines aware of the fact that they need to lower fares and that’s exactly what we are talking about now.

Flights to Europe start at $550. Central-Eastern European destinations are the most affordable now. So if you ever dreamed of visiting Budapest, Prague or Bucharest, now it’s the perfect time to do it. Actually, Prague, Vienna and Budapest are excellent choices for late 2009 , whether you plan to check out the Christmas Markets or just enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere in the cities. Just remember that winter is quite nasty in this part of Europe and you need to pack accordingly.

Or you might want to check out the warmer European destinations. It’s not warm enough to wear a t-shirt, but at least you don’t need to worry about packing all those heavy winter coats. For example, hotels in Barcelona are cheaper in late November and you can enjoy the city without bumping into the hordes of tourists. Actually, the entire Southern Europe is a good choice now, whether you prefer Italy, Croatia or Greece.

Asia in my mind

Asia is an exotic destination, totally worth checking out. Whether you plan a short vacation or a long-term travel spree, the international airfare is affordable right now.

And if you don’t want to plunge directly into a new culture, start your explorations in Bangkok. By the way, hotels in Bangkok are affordable and you’ll be amazed to see how easily it is to tackle the city as a tourist.

How to search Lowfares.com for flights

Lowfares.com is one of the newer airfare search sites, so it’s easy to be confused when you first see how they have things set up. It’s one of a new breed of “meta-search” sites that allow you to enter your information in once and then search multiple airfare sites with just one more click. Unlike some of the others, Lowfares.com allows you to search Kayak.com and SideStep.com, which are actually meta-search sites themselves, in addition to the more traditional online travel agencies.

Las Vegas Hotel Deals

lasvegasstrip1Whether you love Vegas or hate it, or hate to love it and love to hate it like I do, Las Vegas has certainly been home to some jaw-dropping amazing travel deals lately. As one of the cities that’s been hardest hit by the economic recession (conventions that were once constant in the city have slowed way down and leisure travelers have stopped coming in such large numbers), Las Vegas has been struggling to fill up its hundreds of thousands of hotel rooms lately. This means that many of these Vegas hotels are offering up super steep discounts, offering great promotions and even giving away huge resort credits when you book a room, all in an effort to attract more people to Sin City. World Cup 2010 Travel Deals

worlcupHere at BootsnAll Travel Network headquarters, I’m pretty sure I’m the only one in the office who is not a big soccer fan (or should I say “football” fan?). This means I am often left staring blankly when office lunch discussions erupt about the big game yesterday, and my eyes glaze over when fantasy teams are discussed and trades involving big time players who I have never heard of happen.

Despite time spent traveling in Europe and Latin America, playing soccer for years growing up, working in an office surrounded by soccer fans and living in a city where local soccer games outsell baseball games 2 to 1, I just haven’t really boarded the soccer train yet. You’d think given all those factors I may have absorbed some of the soccer frenzy through osmosis, but I’ll still take American football and basketball over soccer any day. Sorry.

How to get the best online travel deals

onlinetravelWhen we look back on recent history in a hundred years, we will probably divide time into “pre-internet revolution” and “post-internet revolution.” This not entirely unlike how we now look at history in terms of pre and post Industrial Revolution.

The internet has changed how we do almost everything—how we connect to and communicate to others, how we post classifieds, how we do research, how we travel and more. We are now in an era where booking travel online seems to be about the only way to do it these days. But with the dawn of the internet and Web 2.0, it can be pretty easy to get lost in all the noise out there and be left wondering how you actually go about finding the best travel deals online. Here are a few tips on how to get the best airfares, cheapest hotel rooms and discounted vacation packages using the web:

Score travel deals on Twitter

twitterYou may have dismissed Twitter as yet another online space for blatant self-promotion, but it turns out there is a whole lot more use for Twitter than simply keeping up to date on what Lindsay Lohan ate for breakfast or where Ashton Kutcher woke up this morning. Twitter can also be a powerful tool used for saving money and scoring travel deals. It may even change how exactly you go about making your travel plans.

For example, discount carrier JetBlue has a twitter feed which only announces deals on last-minute flights every Monday—and they aren’t the only airline who has started offering up special fares and promotions via Twitter. (Follow @JetBlueCheeps for the weekly deals)

The greatest part about finding travels on Twitter? You can choose your level of participation on the social networking site. Don’t feel like sending your daily thoughts out into Twitterland? Than simply choose to follow sites and companies that offer up deals via Twitter and check the site exclusively when you are on the prowl for travels deals or in the midst of planning your next vacation. No tweets about your life necessary.

eiffeltowerUnless you’ve been living in a fallout shelter for the past 18 months, you are quite aware that we are in an economic recession. And, with news swirling around about layoffs, failed businesses, foreclosures and more, it may be no surprise that the travel industry is also hurting. The result has been lower airfares and cut-rate hotel rooms. So, what does this mean for us? Now is actually a great time to take advantage of some stellar travel deals and travel. Cheap Las Vegas travel deals

lasvegasstripI love to hate Las Vegas. Or should I say I hate to love Las Vegas? Maybe it’s a little bit of both. While Vegas is certainly the home of over-the-top excess, the capital of tacky and the definition of so many things I claim to dislike (especially in a travel destination) there is just something slightly irresistible about Vegas. Maybe it’s the lack of open container laws or social acceptance of day-light drinking, but despite the huge number of lakes and fountains in the desert, sky-high prices and Dinseyland for adults feeling, I have to admit Vegas is a whole lot of fun. From great shows to highly rated restaurants, adding on to the list of positives for Vegas lately have been some of the absolutely insane travel deals to Sin City that have been popping up pretty much everywhere lately.

Las Vegas!
