If you grew up on the western side of the Iron Curtain you probably are at least somewhat intrigued by Moscow. The capital of Russia, to many of us Moscow was an exotic place that was a convenient setting for spy novels.
The spy novels locales have changed in recent years, but Moscow is still a destination full of intrigue. Once a city that was as gloomy as a Russian winter’s sky, it is now one of the most happening and most expensive cities on this planet. Bearing witness to the makeover of Moscow is something that all travelers – intrepid or otherwise – will find interesting.
Take a stroll down the street and count the number of high end cars that pass by you. The city is a far cry from the days when people stood in line for hours just to get fresh bread. In fact, Moscow is now home to some of the finest restaurants found anywhere in this world. Just make sure to bring a lot of cash. Even a simple meal can set you back a lot of money.
Flying to Moscow is usually an expensive proposition as well, but if you are willing to experience Russian in the late fall (ie winter-like conditions), you can fly there for about $700 round trip from the east coast of the US through Cheap Tickets.
More Moscow Airfare including a flight from Boston for $430!
