Jet Blue recently caused a big stir in the travel industry when they announced they would be offering an all-you-can-fly pass for $599 that would allow travelers to fly an unlimited number of times from September 8-October 8. The pass sold out before the promotion ended, leaving many industry insiders left wondering if other airlines would follow suit and offer a similar unlimited air travel pass. Any time you pair the words “unlimited” and “travel” together in the same sentence you are bound to get my attention, which is exactly what JetBlue was aiming to do when they announced their new “All You Can Jet” pass for $599 this week. From September 8 to October 8. The pass allows customers to travel for business or pleasure as often as you like for 31 days (though JetBlue was careful not to include Labor Day or Presidents Day in the eligible month). While the Jet Blue Pass seems like a great deal at first, unless you are planning on taking several round-trip flights in the month or spend a lot of time on planes for business travel, this pass probably isn’t all that much of a bargain. For the casual traveler, you are probably better off just sticking to booking your travel the old-fashioned way-one flight at a time. However, if you either have a bunch of spare time to travel this September and a lot of friends and family you want to visit, or are a business traveler who is on the road a lot, the all-you-can-fly pass could potentially save you some dollars.
