The first snow of the season has already fallen in several mountain areas in Europe, which makes us think of the upcoming winter vacation. If you book in advance, the vacations in places which are usually expensive become quite affordable. So, it’s time to search for some deals, right? Ski holidays in France with PV-Holidays
France offers a variety of ski regions and they range from affordable to very expensive. Ultimately it’s your choice, but we can give you some ideas to start the search and to figure out a budget. Several hotels and chalets are offering 20% discount right now. For example you will pay €291.95 per week for a studio capable of housing 3 or 4 persons, located at 2050 m and 2 hours from Chambery Airport.
Speaking of flights to France , make sure to book them in advance as well, especially if you are flying into popular ski areas. It’s often a good idea to fly into a large airport first – such as Paris – and then travel to the ski area either via a domestic flight or by other means of transport.
How about ski vacation packages?
Ski vacation packages always comprise not only the flight and accommodation but also ski lift passes and other services. Although it’s possible to find accommodation and lift only packages as well. But either way, you will be saving money if you buy packages compared to buying all items individually.
Which are the most affordable places to ski in Europe?
With so many mountain ranges passing through the continent, Europe offers a lot of places to ski. Some areas are cheaper and some are more expensive. The affordable ski areas in Europe include: Innsbruck (Austria), Livigno (Italy), Les Arcs (France), Ski Park Eland (Slovakia), Bansko Resort (Bulgaria), Pelion Mountain (Greece), Zakopane Ski Resort (Poland) and Semenic (Romania).
How cheap are these places? For example, if you plan to ski in Bansko (Bulgarias) start at €19/night per person, including breakfast, in a 3-star hotel. Children (2-12 years old) get up to 50% discount from the adult price. Additional costs include dinner (€8/person). The minimum stay is 5 nights.
You do need to consider that the areas offer cheap accommodation and affordable ski lift passes, but you also need to find a way to get there. Thankfully cheap flights in Europe are plentiful and at least one low cost carrier flies to areas close to resorts mentioned above.
