Airfares to Europe are still low

Just thinking about the smell of freshly baked croissants and a frothy café au lait is enough to make me dream of another trip to France. Plus, with fares to Europe down as much as 20% this summer compared to last, now could actually be the ideal time to book you tickets for your fall or winter trip to France before fares (which are already on the rise again) go back up. I recently wrote about great winter and fall travel deals to France and why heading to the land of wine and cheese during these chillier months can actually be a whole lot better than braving the crowds that descend on France every summer. Especially with the great deals on airfare to Paris, not to mention cut-rate rooms at Paris hotels in the winter, traveling to France during the off season could be the best way to stretch your budget and save that valuable cash for things like wine, dinners out and shows. In fact, according to “Bleak Tourism Season Hits Europe” on Reuters, the down economy has made for especially good travel deals in France this season.
Despite the many great deals out there, many travelers have become so accustomed to the low fares, they don’t think they’ll go back up. According to a recent article published in CNN, Americans have become so “drunk on deals,” it’s sometimes hard to imagine what we were paying for airfare on the same routes just months ago. Rich Beattie, editor of Travel and Leisure, said that “the last-minute deals keep coming in” for flights and vacation packages. But, while waiting and booking a last-minute vacation can be one way to save some dollars, booking your travel to France now is also the safer route to take if you are trying to guarantee a low fare. Beattie also said London, Paris and Rome are all good deals for travelers with the dollar still strong.
