Caribbean packages are getting cheaper lately

Regular readers here already know what a fan I am of cheapcaribbean.com, and this week they are offering packages that have surprised even me: All-Inclusive Caribbean Vacations
Their featured deal for travel through the end of August must be bought by August 2, so time is running out, but they’ll have a new featured deal to replace this one, so no need to panic. This shows 5 nights in a resort in the Dominican Republic starting at $549 per person, including airfare. If you want to go in September instead the price is actually $50 less, and then it only goes up a bit more starting in November. This 4-star resort is cheap because of the so-called hurricane season, but those hurricanes only hit these areas like once every 40 years or so, so you’d be pretty unlucky to be there when one is approaching.
Sure you could just book in one of the Las Vegas hotels if you want to avoid hurricanes, but then you have ridiculous heat, which is worse! With those hurricanes you get like 5 days advanced warning, so you can plan your departure if you need to. But with the Las Vegas heat you have to deal with it every day and they don’t warn you until you are already there.
