I was lucky enough to grow up in a family that loved to travel. With a mother who had spent much of her 20s traveling the world, figuring out how to travel with my brother and I in tow was a bit more of a challenge then when she was a solo traveler. Luckily, there are plenty of vacations that are great for families. Especially with a couple months of summer vacation still left, you may be looking for a way to get your kids out of the house and on an adventure this summer. Family-Friendly Vacations + Great Deals!

While I may be biased from growing up in the Colorado Rockies, our family would frequently take advantage of some of the fantastic deals at the ski resorts in the summer. While you may be thinking “ski resort” and “summer” don’t belong in the same sentence, there is plenty of fun to be had up at the mountain resorts in the summer. Not only will you enjoy beautiful warm summer weather, but you’ll also be able to mountain bike, raft and more. The Boston Herald features a story on the great family bargains you can find in Colorado this summer and fall.
While you may not have always had a budget big enough to be able to afford a family vacation, this year’s insane travel deals may make it feasible to book a getaway for the whole family. A vacation that may be especially cheap for the whole family this year could be a cruise. With prices on cruises down up to 50%, it is not hard to snag a great deal on a family cruise.
