Cruising the Caribbean can be cheap

I’ve always associated cruises with big bucks…until I saw this deal: Caribbean: 3-night cruises from $229! Free upgrades and more - Expires 2/8/08

How awesome is that? I’m pretty sure that cruises involve free, unlimited food one way or another, so if the whole thing is only around $75 per night it’s like you are paying for your food and the rest is free. I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent more than $75 on food in one day, and that’s not even including one of those infamous midnight buffets I always hear people talking about on those boats.

One strange thing about this deal is the page the link brings you to has a Pirates of the Caribbean theme, which seems a bit old, and also a strange thing to promote along with cruises. I’ve not seen any of those movies, but I’ve been on the Disneyland ride they are based on, which makes me an expert. Are they suggesting these cruises might get hijacked or raided by Johnny Depp and his band of merry men? I think I’d bring a gun, just in case.

Although if the lovely Keira Knightly might be part of the crew who robs the ship, maybe I’d leave the gun at home and bring some of that special cologne I assume she’d like. Keira Knightly was in those movies, right?
