Families looking for a bargain are in good shape now

Regular readers of this column already know that I think Southwest Vacations is one of the best outfits to help save you money on a vacation in the USA, and their current promotion to family destinations only strengthens my respect: Southwest Airlines Vacations Family Destinations
Their current definition of “family destinations” includes anywhere there is a major theme park, most notably Anaheim and Orlando, but they’ve included Universal Studios in Los Angeles just so it doesn’t look like they are owned by Disney. The great thing about Southwest Vacations is since they can always include cheap airfare with their deals, all they have to do is find a good deal on hotels and they’ve instantly got a tempting package.
Some friends of mine from New York were looking into hotels in Virginia Beach so they could avoid the whole theme park craziness, and sure enough they were able to get an excellent price on a package deal, including a few extras. I used to be in favor of booking all my own travel things individually, but now I think I’ve been wasting a lot of time and money doing that. Live and learn, I suppose.
