Forget those “save 61%” sites, this is better

So imagine the smile on my face when I came across this deal: Hawaii Travel Deals with Air & Car - Save up to 62%

People who’ve been reading this column for any length of time are well aware of how fond I am of big savings. I’m drawn to them in the same way that Lindsay Lohan is drawn to bars with paparazzi out front. We are both powerless!

I’ve always thought that only suckers pay full price for vacations, and now I’m beginning to think that only suckers book trips with savings less than 50%. It’s obvious that some of these resorts are suffering in order to offer deals like this, but their loss is our gain!

Some people accuse people like me of being cheapskates, but I can take 2 or 3 lavish vacations each year if I scour the Web looking for the best deals before I commit. People who pay full price are lucky to be able to afford even one trip a year, so I just assume they are jealous. People in a jealous rage say a lot of things they don’t mean, so I try to forgive them, but that’s just because I’m the bigger person.
