In spite of the goofy William Shatner photos, Priceline really is cheap

This deal doesn’t look too special, but after the link I’ll explain why it really is: Priceline.com Airfare – save up to 40%
For the longest time I assumed Priceline had the exact same prices as all the other airfare sites, but a recently saw that BootsnAll tested all the sites against each other and Priceline was, in fact, the cheapest!
They have a new slogan where they claim there are no booking fees on all published fares, and I assumed this was just a slogan they were using to confuse people. But the reality is that Priceline actually offers the same low fares more airlines offer on their own sites, which are often around $5 per ticket lower than all the other airfare sites.
I’m not sure I’ll ever get over that William Shatner campaign they use. It gives the site something of a cartoonish vibe, which isn’t what I’d associate with the cheapest fares, but the numbers don’t lie and they actually came out the cheapest in the extensive tests. I guess as long as I don’t ever have to hear his version of Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds ever again, I can put up with the silly photos to get the best price.
