The Los Angeles Times recently reported that while an estimated 39.1 million people are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home this Labor Day weekend, that’s still down nearly 6 million or 13.3% from the number of travelers this time last year. While there are good deals on cheap air tickets out there right now, simply getting away closer to home and saving money on air travel could be the best way to enjoy the weekend. Bidding on a room on Priceline may be your best bet, but you can also find some great sales happening at hotels.com, with prices slashed as much as 40%.
