I am certainly not the only one who has left their heart in San Francisco before, which is exactly why I am almost always on the lookout for hot deals to the City by the Bay. Not only do I love the hilly streets, fog rolling in off the bay, Golden Gate bridge, plethora of great restaurants and bars, and mostly the fact that I have many good friends who call the SF their home. For those traveling in a group or who are headed out on a family vacation, you may want to opt out of having to get several hotel rooms and rent a vacation rental instead. If you are headed to nearby Napa wine country during your time in the bay, going for a vacation rental could potentially save you a whole load of cash. You can now get a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath bungalow within walking distance of old town Napa for just $295, which is a whole lot less than you would spend on a few hotel rooms in the same area. If you would rather find a rental closer to the city, there are plenty of great vacation rentals in California to chose from, where you can stay in comfort without a huge price tag.
If you are planning on seeing more than just the Bay area during your trip to California vacation, there is certainly plenty to see between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Plus, getting a cheap flight to San Francisco is pretty easy right now. A Washington Post travel writer suggests you opt for the longer, slower route along 101, where you can stop along the way and check out Monterrey Bat, hang out in Santa Cruz and take in the majesty of the Big Sur coastline.
