Low summer fares to Europe

Although my family used to pack up us kids nearly every summer and head to France, this has not been a tradition I have been easily able to carry on with me into my adulthood. Unfortunately being a young professional with student loans and poor college student have left me little by means of travel funds—ultimately leading to me staying off the continent of Europe in the summertime for the past several years. However, luckily, airfares to Europe this summer seem to be even lower than many low season fares, which is great for those poor students and young folks like me. The economy may be crap and preventing many of us from finding jobs, but at least we can fly to Europe for cheaper. Hooray! London air + hotel + taxes from $699
In fact, I have been continually astonished at how low the summer airfares to Europe really are this year. I keep waiting for summer to creep closer and for prices to skyrocket, but here we are well into May and prices are still pretty damn low. Expedia is currently offering airfare from New York to London starting at just $560. Less than $600 to fly to Europe in the summer? Nuts. But totally great at the same time.
If you’d rather spend your vacation this summer eating pastries and snacking on baguettes, then you can also score some really unbelievable fares this summer to Paris as well. Priceline has some pretty incredible fares listed on its site right now for round-trip to the City of Lights from a variety of departure cities in the U.S. Starting at just $500, it looks like you can easily get from the eastern seaboard to Paris for almost half of what it may have cost you at this time last year.
