On a Shoestring: Round Trip Flights for under $150

shoestring.gifIn an ideal world we all would have the time and money to travel the world without a care to our name. There would be no job responsibilities, there wouldn’t be that pesky thing known as rent and there wouldn’t be reality television shows (ok, this is *my* ideal world). If we wanted to head out for a weekend in San Francisco we would. If we wanted to fly to Boston we could. If we wanted to head on down to Disney World, well, I wish you luck with that.

For most of us, reality is much different than the ideal world. It means bills, responsibilities and not nearly enough vacation time to satisfy our wandering needs. One way to satisfy the travel bug a bit is to think small instead of large. Sure, you can always hold that dream trip around the world in the back of your mind, but in the meantime consider taking shorter, less expensive junkets.

One of the benefits of living in a country as large and as diverse as the United States is that you can get on a plane and fly for a couple of hours and you will be in a place that is geographically and culturally much different than where you live. Spending a long weekend in Dallas might not sound as exciting as spending a month in South America, but even short travel can help soothe the soul and pass the time until that ideal world becomes a reality.

no one deals like we do!
