Save a couple hundred bucks on a vacation package

When you book your own hotel and airfare separately you might get a good deal, but you might not. You can almost always save when you book them together: Save an average of $220 when you book your flight and hotel together at Expedia.com!

Here’s the thing: If you book each thing on your trip it can be a lot of work, and then you might not be able to match all the pieces together, so often you’ll end up costing yourself money doing all this work. These companies like Expedia aren’t always the best choice for each item, but they do get great deals when you book different things at once.

You can find cheap flights to Florida and even occasionally last minute hotels, but try finding them on the same set of dates. It’s not always that easy. Sometimes you find good hotel rates midweek, and then cheap flights over the following weekend. There is a reason these deals aren’t easy to find on your own. I’m not a conspiracy theorist myself, but you have to think about why the fat cats in Washington don’t want you reading this column. That’s all I can say…for now.
