I think pretty much everyone knows that Southwest Airlines has some of the cheapest domestic fares, especially in the western half of the USA. But not everyone knows they also have great deals on packages that also include a hotel stay. If you are in the market to combine a flight and a hotel stay you owe it to yourself to check out their offerings first.

If there are two things I love, and regular readers know this all too well already, they are affordable vacations and destinations coast to coast. The fine people at Southwest have combined my two great loves into one bundle so you can only imagine how thrilled I am. This is a terrible year for Americans to go abroad with our dollar situation, so let’s stay home this year and make the best of it. Okay? I didn’t want to go to Europe this year anyway. The whole place needs a paint job and the TVs in hotel rooms are way too small. When they sort out those problems I might go back, but I’m not promising anything.
