US Air Fares Reach Record Levels

You rub your eyes and think to yourself - I *swear* that ticket was cheaper last year. By, like, a lot.
Or, you find a fare on Monday night, only to discover on Tuesday morning that it has jumped up $100 while you slept.
No, your eyes - and memory - are not failing you. US Department of Transportation (DOT) announced last week that air ticket prices have reached all time highs - surpassing their 9/11 levels for the first time in almost 5 years.
With the rising cost of fuel, and travel on the increase, don’t expect the prices to go down anytime soon - or ever. Barring any unforseen circumstances, it looks as though the elevated prices might be here to stay.
