Vote for your Favorite Airline and Hotel Awards Program

Move over Oscar, Emmy and Grammy, the most prestigious award around is the Freddie. Not familiar with the Freddie? Neither was I until the various airlines started sending out messages asking me to cast my ballot in their favor. The Freddie is awarded annually to the best airline, hotel and credit card programs around. Apparently this award is taken pretty seriously so if you are especially geeked about a particular airline or program you’ll want to head on over to the Freddie Awards Web site and cast your ballot before February 28th.

Here are the Freddie recipients from previous years:

2005 Airline: Southwest Airlines - Rapid Rewards
Hotel: - IHG Priority Club Rewards

2004 Airline: America West – Flight Fund
Hotel Starwood - Preferred Guest

2003 Airline: Southwest Airlines - Rapid Rewards
Hotel - IHG Priority Club Rewards

2002 Airline: Alaska Airlines - Mileage Plan
Hotel Starwood - Starwood Preferred Guest

Will it be Starwood or IHG coming out on top this year? Can Southwest Airlines make it 3 out of 4 years as the best? Will Paris Hilton show up for the award ceremony? Do you suppose they make the pilots put on a tuxedo and walk down a red carpet or something?

These questions and many more will be answered when the winners are announced on April 26, 2007.
