When you think about where to go to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, you probably automatically think of a couple of places – namely, anywhere in Ireland (of course), followed closely by New York (probably). But there are lots of cities around the globe that are noted for their St. Patrick’s Day festivities – and if you’re a budget traveler you might be more interested in seeking out the cheapest place to go rather than getting your heart set on a destination only to find out it’s the most expensive.
Let’s face it – the people who go to the Coachella Music Festival aren’t generally the type who jet-set around the globe and have money to burn on airline tickets. So if you can’t drive all the way to the festival, that means you’ve got to fly to a nearby airport and then find ground transportation to Indio. Luckily for you, you’ve got a few airports to choose from – which means your chances of finding cheap airfare to the Coachella Festival are pretty good.
Whether you’re a soccer/football fan or not, if you’re a sports fan who likes to travel you can probably appreciate the excitement of seeing the final game of a big tournament while you’re traveling. Of course if you’re so into the sport that you make a point of traveling just to attend the game, that’s a whole other level of commitment – and one we heartily support.
You may not be Irish, but on St. Patrick’s Day you can pretend you are. Sure, it might feel more authentic if you don’t have to pretend, but after a few green beers on March 17th no one seems to care what your heritage is anymore anyway.
