AirTran - Travel Deals

With soaring gas prices and airlines still struggling, the summer travel season in the United States is shaping up to be an expensive one. Doesn’t it suck how that works? You save up your vacation time or you are finally done with school and the next thing you know the tickets you could have gotten for peanuts back in February are now through the roof. It happens every year.

Fortunately there are cheapie airlines around that buck the trend. AirTran is one of them. The Little Guys continue to churn out decently priced tickets no matter what time of year it says it is on the calendar. For example, you can fly from San Francisco to Boston for $164 one way. That is really quite good. You can also flee Detroit and go to Orlando for $94 one way, not that I would recommend going to Orlando in the summer. I lived there for a number of years and I sweat just thinking about the heat and humidity.

Anyway, it is worth your effort to check out what AirTran is offering in terms of summer flights. In some cases they even beat Southwest, Jet Blue and the other budget carriers.

You’re probably familiar with a discount airline like Southwest, but you might not be all that familiar with AirTran. After checking out their fall and winter ticket sale, it is definitely an airline worth getting to know. In addition to being very cheap, AirTran offers nice little features like onboard satellite radio to help pass the time while you are cruising at 50,000 feet. AirTran flies to a lot of major airports in the United States and if you purchase a ticket on one of their flights before October 17, 2006, you are going to get a real deal. You won’t find these prices in the major airline search engines, so head on over to the AirTran website and see for yourself how much you can save.

Summer is quickly coming to an end - we saw back to school deals already!

In order to get the great deals, you must purchase tickets at least 14 days in advance, but no minimum or maximum stay restrictions apply. The AirTran sale is valid on travel through November 16.

As usual, travel Tuesday & Wednesday for lowest fares, and be aware that ther are some blackout dates.

AirTran Airways: All Cities On Sale!

All AirTran Airways destinations are on sale for travel through November 15, 2006. The lowest sale fares are available for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and additional sale fares are available for travel on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Book your tickets by Tuesday, July 11, 2006. These fares require a 14-day advance purchase and are not valid for travel on Fridays or Sundays.

Buy your tickets by July 11, 2006, 11:59 pm ET and fly through November 15, 2006. A 14-day advance purchase required.

Fares are not valid for travel September 4, 2006.

If you are unable to locate a particular fare, try searching on different travel dates or times, as fares are subject to availability and sell out quickly.

Travel may originate in either city, all fares are one-way, no roundtrip required.
