Ah Scotland. The land where golf was invented, kilts are an acceptable fashion statement and where 13% of the population has red hair, the highest percentage of any country in the world. It is also home to the oldest national flag still in existence, a place where it is illegal to be in possession of cow while under the influence of drink, and a land where if someone comes to your house to ask to use your bathroom, you must by law allow them to enter.
If for no other reason than easy access to a toilet, Scotland is a country that should be on your vacation destination. In addition to the open bathroom policy, it is a land that holds many wonders. Its history is rich, its scenery at times beautiful and its people are as welcoming as they come. Its chief tourist city Edinburgh is a world-class city that is second only to London in number of visitors per year in the UK. Many of them come in the summer months when the city is alive with one festival after another.
Scotland can be in your travel plans this summer thanks to some decently priced tickets from BMI. Just remember to pack your kilt and your courage. You might need a braveheart to eat some of the traditional Scottish cuisine.
