Cheap Flights to Georgia
Gracious columned mansions, pretty girls and handsome soldiers is the image the southern state of Georgia conjures up for most, thanks to the enduring fame of the classic movie Gone with the Wind, based on Margaret Mitchell’s Pulitzer prize-winning novel. As sure as having hot buttered grits for breakfast is the fact that Georgia did not really need a movie to put it on the map. The state took a heavy toll during the American Civil War, particularly the capital, Atlanta, which was largely laid waste. Georgian determination, however, has ensured that a phoenix arose from those ashes, and today Georgia’s lively towns and the thriving cosmopolitan city of Atlanta are a force to be reckoned with.
Cheap Flights to District of Columbia
Cheap Flights to District of Columbia
Europeans first arrived along the Potomac River in the 16th century and the area quickly became prosperous; tobacco brought vast wealth to the gentleman planters, and the abundance of slaves gave them ample time for leisure. After the revolutionary war Congress had to decide on the location of a new ’Federal Town’. The 10 square miles (26 sq km) between Maryland and Virginia, which is now the District of Columbia, was finally selected for its strategic location between North and South.
Today, Washington, DC with its low-profile skyline is a city of green parks and open spaces, grand buildings, historic landmarks, marbled monuments and impressive museums, with character-filled neighbourhoods that support a thriving cultural scene.
Cheap Flights to Colorado Springs
Cheap Flights to Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs is a growing city that was originally developed as a vacation destination in 1871 as part of the ’health centre’ boom of Colorado, being blessed with the nearby mineral waters of Manitou Springs, its high mountain ranges and fresh mountain air. Today it is a popular tourist destination (its main source of income), attracting visitors to the magnificent scenery of Pikes Peak Country and the pleasant climate. It is a good base from which to explore the beauty of the surrounding area and most tourists come to marvel at the landscape of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, as well as to see the US Air Force Academy.
Most of Colorado Springs’ residents are retired or active military personnel and this lends a conservative mood to the city. Colorado Springs sits at the foot of its most famous landmark, the 14,110ft (4,301m) Pikes Peak and a breathtaking journey on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway takes passengers to the summit from where incredible views over the Rocky Mountain Range, Denver and the endless Great Plains can be enjoyed. The marvellous red sandstone formations of the nearby Garden of the Gods have been sculpted into pinnacles and weirdly-eroded shapes by the wind and rain over millions of years, and the park has numerous walking trails that allow visitors to explore the landscape away from the tourist-travelled roads.
Cheap Flights to Canada
Canada is the second largest nation in the world, and its vastness and natural beauty are beyond imagination. In the rugged Arctic North the activities are dog sledding, camping, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. Nunavit, the Inuit homeland, also on the Arctic Ocean, has Ice Age landscapes. In contrast, British Columbia has beautiful scenery and a mild climate, and the maritime provinces have fishing villages, powerful ocean tides, and warm and sandy beaches. The landscape and terrain go on with forests and deserts, prairies and fjords, and cosmopolitan cities.
Canada’s population is smaller than California’s, and 90 per cent of Canadians live along the U.S. border. Which means that most of Canada is still a frontier, unseen and uncharted. Yet Canada’s population is diverse and multicultural—they refer to it as “mosaic.” Rather than blend together, the French, English, Chinese, Ukrainians, Portuguese, Indians, Greeks, Polish and other cultures keep the traditions of their homelands, resulting in an exemplary example of tolerance. You’ll find that there’s no such person as a typical Canadian.
Cheap Flights to Australia
Kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, and the Great Barrier Reef merely top the list of things to see and do in Australia: wildlife that isn’t anywhere else in the world, the world’s oldest civilization, more than 7,000 beaches, a 110-million-year-old rainforest, and Ayers Rock in the middle of the desert.
Or perhaps you’d rather shop in Melbourne and take in a festival, go to the Sydney Opera House, or ski the Victorian Alps. Meeting the Aussies and their culture is also a great experience. People have immigrated to Australia from more than 150 countries, making it probably the most diverse nation in the world. All these cultures are reflected in the architecture, arts, and superb fusion cuisines.

Cheap Flights to Cody (Yellowstone)
Cheap Flights to Cody (Yellowstone)
Cody is entertainer William ’Buffalo Bill’ Cody’s hometown, and was founded by him in 1887. During summer it rivals Jackson as Wyoming’s number one tourist town, at the same time retaining more of the bona fide appeal of a pastoral Western community than the resort sophistication of its contender.
Every summer the town turns up its Western charm for the thousands of visitors en route to the east gate of Yellowstone National Park with rodeos, the annual Cody Stampede, Buffalo Bill attractions and paraphernalia, and a cowtown circus. Cody’s main attraction is the world-class Buffalo Bill Historical Center, encompassing five different museums detailing the history of the West.
Cheap Flights to Washington DC
Cheap Flights to Washington DC
Washington is often compared with Paris, because its French-born designer Pierre L’Enfant used a similar street layout. And like Paris, one of its most notable features is the absence of skyscrapers. Washington is visually breathtaking, with open spaces and long vistas.
Washington’s appeal to visitors is multifold. It is the seat of government for the United States, and its construction began in the early days of the young nation. It is home to a large number of beautiful buildings and monuments, historic memorials and outstanding museums.
Just on the Mall there are more museums than anyone can cover. Major ones are the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian, the National Museum of Natural History, and the new National Museum of the American Indian. On Capitol Hill, you can visit the Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress. You can also tour the U.S. Botanic Garden’s conservatory, or merely enjoy its lovely park.
Washington has many interesting neighborhoods. One of the most attractive is Georgetown, with 18th and 19th century houses and brick sidewalks and an array of upscale shops and restaurants.
Cheap Flights to Tampa
As part of Florida’s west coast, Tampa Bay has some of the best beaches in the world. Combine the beaches with the lakes and the Hillsborough River, and you can spend an entire vacation snorkeling, diving, sailing, fresh or saltwater fishing, kayaking, or just napping on the beach.
So it’s not surprising that Tampa Bay also surrounds one of Florida’s largest estuaries and has an abundance of water fowl. Some of the magnificent birds that are seen every day in Tampa are considered to be threatened species. The area is also a wildlife haven and has several nature parks and refuges. The well-known Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge is home to one of Florida’s largest destinations for West Indian Manatees. And, of course, Busch Gardens in Tampa is home to over 35 endangered species and is well-known for its breeding programs.
There are also golf courses, and lots of them. Tampa Bay has a golf course for every budget and skill level.
Cheap Flights to Texas
Texans like to brag that their state is the biggest and best, and it does stand out—not because it’s bigger and better, but because it is one of the most diverse and interesting states. Tex-Mex started here in Texas, the Johnson Space Center and the Superdome call it home, and the Live Music Capital of the World is in Texas. There are oil derricks, cattle and cowboys. Southfork Ranch is open to the public, as is the Alamo and some of the oldest Spanish missions in the country.
While it still has wide-open ranges, Texas is also urban. It’s a leader in ranching, agriculture, and high-technology; has world-class art collections and museums; and has three of the ten largest U. S. cities. It’s a conservative state, yet one of its best known cities, Austin, is laid back, trendy, decidedly hippie-like. A true melting pot, Texas is proud of its Czech, German, Irish, and Hispanic communities.
Texans are known for their friendliness and willingness to help, whether you need directions or shelter from a storm. Maybe they do have something to brag about.
Cheap Flights to Seattle
The Space Needle, Mt. Rainier, Microsoft—these towering giants of nature, architecture, and industry all symbolize Seattle in many people’s minds. But more than anything, Seattle is a city of water (and not just the frequent rain). Seattle’s geography is defined by rivers, lakes, canals, and of course the beautiful harbor on Puget Sound with its view of the Olympic Mountains.
The waterfront is one of Seattle’s main attractions, providing shopping at Pike Place Market, restaurants, hotels, the Seattle Aquarium, and the Seattle Art Museum. From the waterfront, you can embark on a narrated cruise or a whale watch.
The Seattle Center is a two-minute monorail ride from downtown. Originally built for the 1962 world’s fair, but continually evolving, the Seattle Center is a beautifully designed complex of gardens and fountains, restaurants, shops, and theatres, and of course the Space Needle.
And for trips outside the city, you can visit Seattle’s Olympic National Park, with Lake Quinault and the Hoh Rain Forest; Mt. St. Helen’s National Park (unless the volcano is active); or the San Juan Islands.
