Fly from New York to Hamburg and Eat a Hamburger

hamburg.jpgI had the fortune of spending some time in Germany this summer for the soccer World Cup and I absolutely loved the place. One of the coolest cities I visited was Hamburg. It is located on one of the busiest harbors in Europe and is one of Germany’s wealthiest cities. While the downtown area is lovely and there are some stunning parks throughout the city, no trip to Hamburg is complete without a visit to its Red Light District. The seedy part of town is actually not that seedy. It claims to be the safest district in the city and given the number of police I saw milling around there I can understand why. It is worth a look even if you are appalled by that sort of thing.

Travelocity is offering up some really cheap flights from New York to Hamburg, starting at just $249. With the money you save, you’ll be able to deal with the fact that the dollar sucks against the euro these days.
