Cheap Frontier Flights to Baton Rouge

baton-rouge.jpgIf you like your cities hot and humid you’ll love Baton Rouge. The capital of Louisiana, Baton Rouge gets its fair share of rainfall all year round, while rarely dipping below freezing. Its low elevation rate and location right along the banks of the Mississippi River lend a tropical feel to the city.

What does one do while visiting Baton Rouge? If you aren’t busy attending an LSU sporting event or social affair, you can check out any number of plantation homes that give a glimpse into southern history. The Nottoway Plantation, built in 1859, has a mere 53,000 square feet and 64 rooms to explore. As slightly less extravagant option is the Rosedown Plantation which features a lovely garden that is perfect for a romantic stroll.

Being the center of government in the state, Baton Rouge also has a wonderful Old State Capitol that is fun to explore. If that doesn’t float your boat, you could always take a ride on a steamboat along the Mississippi. It is a wonderful way to see the city and to enjoy a lovely meal while Huck Finn passes by.

Getting to Baton Rouge is fairly easy and inexpensive. Frontier Airlines has some especially inviting cheap flight deals.

Bottoms Up! Flights to Mazatlán, Mexico on Sale

margarita.jpgWhenever I see the name “Mazatlán” I am reminded of a friend’s 21st birthday party where we all decided that drinking margaritas all night long would be better than, say, eating anything. We were broke, we had a local Mexican dive called Mazatlán right around the corner from where we lived, and we ended up with hangovers that lasted well into our 30s.

Needless to say, this association has never inspired any of us to actual visit the real Mazatlán, which is a popular tourist region on the Pacific side of Mexico. Located across from the tip of Baja, California, it is Mexico’s largest commercial port. Chances are you won’t be visiting there while on a big cargo ship, but that is ok because the city and region have plenty of nice hotels for you to rest your weary head at night.

Frontier Airlines has flights from Dallas, Texas to Mazatlán that are about as cheap as those margaritas I drank way back when. Having never been there myself, I am still going to venture to say that you should be able to find a frosty beverage or two if you choose to visit. Just remember to known when to say when. A decade-long hangover is even worse than Montezuma’s Revenge.

Get Thee to Cabo San Lucas

cortes.jpgRemember how I was telling you about Baja, California? Of course you do. It was only a couple of days ago and no matter how hard you try to kill your brain cells you should be remember something like this.

We’re still on a Baja kick because the prices for flights there these days are cheaper than a cheap coat. How cheap? Glad you asked. Frontier Airlines will fly you from LA to Cabo San Lucas for about 200 bones this winter. If you haven’t been to Cabo, it is Fabo. Just ask Hernán Cortés, he visited there in 1535.
