Las Vegas - Travel Deals

Cheap Las Vegas vacation packages

lasvegasstrip1Unless you’ve been living under some really big rock for the past 10 months, you’ve probably noticed that travel to just about everywhere has been pretty cheap. Airfares are way down, and with 17% fewer traveler expected to take to the air this Labor Day Weekend, you’d imagine that the airlines have been offering up some pretty sweet fare sales and package deals to encourage travelers to hit the road. There are a few destinations that are offering up some especially good deals this fall—and Vegas is certainly one of them. Southwest Airlines is offering up some Vegas vacation deals that include midweek credits at some hotels and other special offerings. Southwest Airlines Vacations

Vegas keeps getting cheaper

vegasnightI have a love/hate relationship with Vegas. As much as I love it being socially acceptable to drink during the daylight hours and that it’s a place where booze and entertainment seems to take precedence over other things, I also have a little bit of trouble getting behind the sheer excess, triple digit temperatures and abundance of water features, green grass and fountains in the middle of the desert. That being said, despite its drawbacks, Vegas sure is one hell of a fun place to visit. Also, thanks to getting hit hard by the recession, there are also some absolutely screaming deals in Vegas right now. Southwest Airlines Vacations. Hot summer deals on Vegas vacations

vegasnightWhile the age of digital cameras and social networking sites have pretty much done away with the notion that anything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas (now it’s more like anything that happens in Vegas…later gets posted on facebook), that doesn’t mean you can’t have a hellaciously good time in Sin City. Especially with so many great deals and insane special at hotels on the strip, you also shouldn’t have a hard time booking your Vegas vacation for a whole lot less money than you thought (less money on hotel = more money for booze and gambling). Vegas deals aplenty

las-vegas-skylineWhat do you get when you cross gambling, lots of booze, tons of shows, great restaurants and plenty of scantily clad guys and gals (many of whom dance on stage in town)? Sin City, of course. In a city designed around excess, parties and having a great time, it is no wonder many people flock to Vegas for its wealth of entertainment and opportunity to get into trouble. As it turns out, however, those flocks have been growing increasingly smaller as the economy has kepy many gamblers and revelers at home this year—which has meant for some phenomenal deals on vacation packages to Sin City. vegasnightIf you ask me, any place with the nickname of Sin City has got to be place where you’re guaranteed a good time. With a plethora of debauchery options, Las Vegas is home to not only plenty of devilish fun but also lots of great deals. With the economy sluggish, there are some absolutely fantastic deals to Vegas right now, making it easy to justify a little trip to Sin City. Southwest Airlines Vacations. Cheap Vegas vacations

las-vegas-skylineWhile the world of digital cameras and social media have made the statement “what happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas” pretty untrue these days, it doesn’t mean you can’t still have a frickin’ good time in Sin City. Especially with some of the deals out there for Vegas on everything from airfare to hotel rooms, you could be eating at the great restaurants, hitting the clubs and winning big on the blackjack tables for a lot less than you ever thought possible. Save on Flights to/from Charlotte, Las Vegas and Seattle

mkcookies.jpgOne is a growing city in what some people call the Bible Belt. The other is a sprawling city of sin located in the desert. The last is a chic city where the rains last forever. What in the world do Charlotte, North Carolina, Las Vegas, Nevada and Seattle, Washington possibly have in common?

They are all featured destinations this month at Midwest Airlines. If you live in the heart of the country or in one of these three cities, you can get yourself some seriously discounted tickets. The offer only lasts until November 5, 2007 and you must complete your travel by February 14, 2008. The standard blackout dates and restrictions apply.

I’ve had a lot of success flying Midwest Airlines over the years. They are probably not one of the first airlines that come to mind when you think of flying in the US and they don’t appear in most of the search engines like Booking Wiz, but they consistently offer low priced flights to and from the Midwest. And they offer chocolate chip cookies on their flights. Who doesn’t like chocolate chip cookies?

Virgin America loses its virginity on August 9, 2007

virgin_america.jpgOver the years travelers looking for cheap flights from the United States to London have come to appreciate Virgin Atlantic. The airline operated by the billionaire mogul Richard Branson offers up moderately priced flights with a bit more comfort than most transatlantic airlines.

Virgin recently launched a new branch of their airline called Virgin America. The first flight will be on August 9, 2007. The discount airline currently has five airport destinations – New York JFK, Washington Dulles, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles. It might be limited in scope at the moment, but it is still worth a look if for nothing else its introductory flight ticket sale.

Virgin America is offering round trop flights from coast to coast for less than $300. Flights from LA to San Francisco start at $91 round trip. Any time you see a price like that it bodes well for travelers. It means other airlines will have to offer cheap flights too to keep up with their new competitors.

To get the discount prices on Virgin America you need to make your purchase by August 8, 2007.

Deal Yourself a Flight to Germany from Las Vegas

cards.jpgModern Germany. The mere term conjures up efficiency, order and precision. Germany is a nation built on engineering and the country has been engineered to run like a well oiled machine. On the surface, this stereotype might seem inescapable while you are in the country. But once you spend time there you will find out that even in the most orderly of places, chaos and inefficiencies can break out. In most places experiencing this is a hassle while you travel. In Germany it is a relief. It is a sign of normalcy.

Order or chaos, Germany is a fabulous country to visit. Its regions are diverse and its population is becoming increasingly varied too. Modern Germany is still easy to navigate, but if you look a little below the surface you’ll find an edge that didn’t use to be there. It is a combination of social change and societal attitude. It is something that isn’t talked about much but it can be palpably felt.

You can experience this for yourself by hopping on one of the great deals Condor has on flights from Las Vegas to Frankfurt. Could two cities be more different? That is what makes the world fun.

This isn’t the first or the last time Las Vegas vacations are on Sale

klingon.jpgThere are certain things you should never do in life. You should never accept your friend’s challenge to stick your tongue to a stop sign when it is minus 20 outside. You should never marry Kevin Federline. You should never think that it is funny or ironic to have a mullet. You should never speak in Klingon. And most of all, you should never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever pay full price for a Las Vegas vacation.

Just to make things clear, you’d rather slide down a razor blade slide into a pool of alcohol than pay full price for anything related to Las Vegas.

The reason why is obvious. The fine folks who bring you the sin in the sand want you to visit and they want you to leave behind your money while at the gambling tables. They know that the cheaper they make it for you to fly to Las Vegas and the cheaper they make it for you to stay in Las Vegas, the more likely it is that your will actually go to Las Vegas.

The trick isn’t finding a great deal. The trick is walking away from the tables before you lose too much. Once you figure out that trick, let me know and we can go get a mullet cut while practicing our Klingon together.
