You can’t Fly to Tahiti for much Cheaper than this

tahiti.jpgTahiti is one of those destinations that people often dream about visiting but never do. For one thing it is bloody far from the United States and other large landmasses. For another, it is bloody expensive to travel there. We can’t do anything about the distance (other than perhaps roots for the continents to come together into one mass again), but we can do something about the cost of flying to Tahiti.

Air Tahiti Nui, an airline whose very name makes my stomach drop in fear but nevertheless is reputable, is offering round-trip flights from Los Angeles for $651. Considering the fact that I have come across similar flights that cost well in excess of $1,000, this is quite the deal. As is the case with every deal, however, there are travel conditions including limited dates when you must fly to get the rate.

If you can work your schedule to fit the flights you will have an opportunity that many of us never will have. You will have the chance to visit the paradise that is Tahiti and your wallet will return home to tell about it.

While you are planning your vacation, go ahead and check out the deals on Tahiti hotels. The place is not expensive but if you do some legwork you might be able to find a decent bed at a decent rate.

Do you really need any incentive to fly to Tahiti?

postcard-tahiti-tahitian-dancer-vahine.jpgTahiti is one of those destinations that make you feel warm and fuzzy just when you hear the name mentioned. Chances are you haven’t been there, but if you close your eyes and try to picture it you probably can. What you are probably envisioning are white sandy beaches, crystal clear blue waters, palm trees, scuba diving and topless women. Sadly, I must report that the residents of Tahiti do not go topless these days, but all those other images that came to your mind are very much true. If paradise was lost, it has been found in Tahiti.

One thing to be aware of is that no matter where you go in French Polynesia, you are going to end up spending a lot of money. The cost of visiting paradise does not come cheap and those who live on the islands will do their best to leave your wallet with little more than lint balls.

The expenses of visiting Tahiti make it all that much more important to save money on your flight there. One of the best deals to come around the pike in a long time is one being offered by Air Tahiti Nui on flights from Los Angeles to Papetee, Tahiti. This offer only last until January 3, 2007 so you’ll have to act fast to get it. Otherwise give the famous Booking Buddy a try and see if you can save some money before you discover the beauty that is Tahiti.

French Polynesia’s main island of Tahiti (meaning ’the gathering place’) stands sentinel over her surrounding sisters like a proud queen, her soaring interior mountains sheltering deep valleys, plummeting waterfalls and crystal streams flowing down to the rugged coastline of black and white sand beaches and blue lagoons. The island is actually two islands, Tahiti-Nui and Tahiti-Iti, joined by a narrow isthmus.

Most holidaymakers start their island idyll at the international Faa’a Airport at Papeete, Tahiti’s capital and the commercial hub of French Polynesia. The small, busy city has a French flavour and laid-back atmosphere, worth exploring for its vibrant Central Market, pearl shops, attractive waterfront with its unique mobile diners, and a selection of excellent restaurants. Another must for visitors is to take a round-the-island tour, along the 73-mile (117km) road encircling the island, passing historic monuments, museums, beaches, ruined temples, waterfalls, gardens and dramatic scenery.
