Save on 2008 Hawaii Vacation Packages

hawaii-vacation.jpgIt usually happens the first autumn morning when you go outside and your hands instantaneously fell numb. Your breath if visible, you are cursing yourself for forgetting where you put your warm winter jacket and the thought of having to shovel the driveway sends a chill down your spine. You know that winter is still a few weeks away, but there is no avoiding it again this year. Your only escape, other than moving to warmer climes, is to take a vacation. A vacation to someplace where you won’t see your breath and where your hands will not go numb. A place where the sun shines in the winter and where a winter jacket is superfluous. Someplace like Hawaii. Ah yes, Hawaii.

Now is the time to book your Hawaiian vacation and United Vacations is standing by to help. They have their usual savings on trips to the islands. The more you spend, the more you save. You know the deal. What you might not know is that there is a lot to do in Hawaii that does not involve being crammed into a confined space with other pasty tourists from the US. That is where the Hawaii Travel Guide logue can help. It has all kinds of information about what to do, where to go and what to eat while you are escaping winter in paradise.

Save now on your 2007-2008 Ski Vacations

old_ski_guy.jpgImagine what it must have been like to have been the first person to slap some wood on his feet and to propel himself down a side of a mountain. The thrill must have been something. According to the experts at Wikipedia, there’s evidence that skiing existed as far back as 5,000 years ago. That means for 5,000 years people have been shredding powder, running into trees and tearing up knees all in the name of the ski adrenaline rush.

The sport has progressed a lot since those ancient times. Heck, skiers probably didn’t even wear neon colors until at least the 1970s. The weren’t even snowboards around when Richard Nixon was president.

We’ve come a long way. The only problem is that with technological progress there come costs. Namely the price of ski lift tickets. Resorts across the country are charging an arm and a leg to allow you to hurl yourself down their mountains.

United Vacations is here to help. They have some excellent vacation packages on ski resorts throughout North America — resorts like Aspen, Banff, Jackson Hole and Lake Tahoe.

The Sun Shines on San Diego Savings

san-diego-cheap-tickets.jpgLos Angeles might have the star appeal and San Francisco has the impressive sites, but if you are looking for the best city experience in California you need look no further than San Diego.

If you are looking for a holiday in which you can sit around on the beach and soak up the sunshine, San Diego’s idyllic weather and beaches legendary. If you are looking to combine all of the above with a cruise, San Diego is a popular port of call for west coast cruise ships.

Save Money on Canadian Vacations

loonie.jpgIt doesn’t seem long ago that the Canadian dollar couldn’t buy you the cheapest spot in Monopoly. My how times have changed. The Canadian dollar has leveled against the US dollar and is only getting stronger. What that means for you, dear traveler, is that your vacations to Canada are becoming more and more expensive by the day. That pint of Molson is going to cost more. That gallon of maple syrup is going to eat away at your savings account. The medicines you can’t afford in the US…well, those are still a bargain but not as much as they used to be.

To offset the sticker price shock, United Vacations has a deal going where you can save $200 off your next trip to the Great White North. Their packages include deals on beautiful mountain spots like Banff, Jasper and Whistler. If city life is more of your thing, you can also visit Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto. If you want to get your French on, Montreal and Temblant will welcome you to Parlez-Vous Francais.

The value of its currency might have changed, but one thing that has not is the fact that Canada is still an excellent country for both urbanities and outdoors folks to visit.

Thanksgiving and Christmas in August

grinch.jpgRemember last year when you waited until the last possible second to purchase your tickets for your Thanksgiving and Christmas travel? As your bank account wept, you made a promise to not wait as long next year. You swore that you would get your tickets early so that you wouldn’t have to mortgage the house just to afford a trip during the holidays. You even put a reminder on your Outlook calendar so that you would buy your winter tickets during the summer months.

It is time to put your words into action. Sure the calendar might read August, but it is a good time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you book your flights and accommodations right now, you might actually have enough money left over to buy your family presents. Family members like presents. Or so I have been told. I usually wait until the last minute too and end up giving out airplane peanuts as presents. If you give out airplane peanuts you will earn a reputation as being a Grinch. It is not fun being a Grinch.

Not this year. This is the year when the holiday plans will be sorted out early and at a reasonable price…

Autumn in Alaska? It is not as crazy as it sounds

alaska-autumn.jpgThe vast majority of people who visit Alaska do so during a narrow time window in the summer. That is when the state is alive and when you don’t need to strap on the snowshoes to walk around. The summer is without question a beautiful time to visit the Last Frontier, but those in the know also say that early Autumn is delightful.

The crowds are gone, the animals are still out, the viewing of the Northern lights is the best it is all year and the prices are cut rate. For example:

Beginning August 28 and throughout the rest of the season, *stay at any of Denali Park Resorts’ lodges at half the price and get half off any of the Explore Denali excursions. *The Explore Denali excursions offer guests an opportunity to hike within the park boundary or explore further a field on a van tour and are customizable to guests interests.

The outings allow guests to see the amazing colors of Alaska in the fall and the best of the park and wildlife. This package, which features lodging at McKinley Chalet Resort, McKinley Village Lodge, Denali Bluffs Hotel, or Denali Grande Lodge, represents an incredible *50 percent savings*, costs $329.00 per room for two-night lodging and tickets for two on any Explore Denali excursion, and runs through the end of the season, Sept. 18.

Reservations must be made in advance and are based on availability. Rates are based on double occupancy, additional charges will apply to additional guests.**

You can visit Denali Resorts to learn more about the awesomeness of an Alaska autumn and to book your reservations.

Save $50 on hotel stays of three nights or more

50.jpgIf I were to hand you $50, what would you do with it? You could head down to the local pub and buy 10 really expensive microbrews or 20 cheap beers. You could head to the gas station and pump a tank of gas, assuming you don’t drive one of those tanks I see around town. You could also buy a 30-year treasury bond and hope that you live long enough for it to come to maturity.

The options are endless when you are handed free money and that is essentially what Cheap Tickets is doing this summer with their hotel promotion. They will knock $50 off the price of any number of hotels if you book a room for at least three nights. The only catch is that you have to book a room by July 8, 2007 for travel between June 4 and September 3, 2007. That isn’t much of a catch at all considering those are the summer travel dates.

One final option for your $50. Donate it to a charitable organization that is doing work you support. There are a lot of good people doing good things to make our communities and our world a better place and they could use our support.

Cheap Flights to Cebu, Philippines

cebu.jpgIf you want to visit the Philippines in comfort and style, travel to Cebu. A long narrow island in the center of the archipelago, Cebu is one of the most developed provinces in the Philippines. It is the country’s most popular tourist and business destination. It has been developed to attract tourists and as a result it has five-star hotels, casinos, excellent golf courses and restaurants to go along with its white sandy beaches and warm blue waters.

Cebu is blessed with year-round humid and tropical weather. This is convenient since the island has some of the best fishing and diving of anywhere in Asia. Moreover, it is situated near a number of smaller islands which are perfect for island hopping by motor or sail boat. You can enjoy both the comfort of Cebu’s built up infrastructure and the peace and quiet that can only be found on secluded islands.

Accommodations in Cebu run the full gamut from fancy resorts that only your business account would like to pay for to cheap dives that attract backpackers and budget travelers. Considering how far the island is from the United States, Airfare to Cebu can be fairly reasonable.
