Las Vegas Deals for the Non-Gambler

Most of the Las Vegas travel guides out there assume that you’re visiting Vegas to gamble. They offer great tips on how to get your trip comp’d by a casino – or at least how to get dirt-cheap offers on trips from casino hotels – but almost all of the sure-fire ways to score great deals in Vegas involve being a gambler. If a casino hotel knows you’re going to be dropping lots of money in the casino, then they still come out ahead if they comp your room.

What if you’re not a gambler, though? What if you like the variety of activities in Vegas, but you’re never going to be enough of a gambler for a casino to offer you freebies? Thankfully, there are still Las Vegas deals that you can take advantage of.

Las Vegas Can Be a Great Bargain for New Year’s

vegasstripLas Vegas always seems to be a bargain destination – especially if you’re already in the United States – and at this time of year it’s not only cheap it’s also a welcome warm respite from the cold weather much of the country is dealing with. And even though we’re only out a few days before Christmas right now, that doesn’t mean it’s too late to book a trip to Vegas to celebrate New Year’s in style.

Many of the cheapest fares I’m seeing for Las Vegas right now may very well be for right before or right after New Year’s, since it’s a popular destination for New Year’s parties, but airfare to Vegas is usually fairly low even during peak times. Plus, even if you’re paying a little more on your flight than you’d like, you can usually make up for it with a steal of a deal on a room.

Cheap Las Vegas vacation packages

lasvegasstrip1Unless you’ve been living under some really big rock for the past 10 months, you’ve probably noticed that travel to just about everywhere has been pretty cheap. Airfares are way down, and with 17% fewer traveler expected to take to the air this Labor Day Weekend, you’d imagine that the airlines have been offering up some pretty sweet fare sales and package deals to encourage travelers to hit the road. There are a few destinations that are offering up some especially good deals this fall—and Vegas is certainly one of them. Southwest Airlines is offering up some Vegas vacation deals that include midweek credits at some hotels and other special offerings. Southwest Airlines Vacations

Vegas keeps getting cheaper

vegasnightI have a love/hate relationship with Vegas. As much as I love it being socially acceptable to drink during the daylight hours and that it’s a place where booze and entertainment seems to take precedence over other things, I also have a little bit of trouble getting behind the sheer excess, triple digit temperatures and abundance of water features, green grass and fountains in the middle of the desert. That being said, despite its drawbacks, Vegas sure is one hell of a fun place to visit. Also, thanks to getting hit hard by the recession, there are also some absolutely screaming deals in Vegas right now. Southwest Airlines Vacations. Hot summer deals on Vegas vacations

vegasnightWhile the age of digital cameras and social networking sites have pretty much done away with the notion that anything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas (now it’s more like anything that happens in Vegas…later gets posted on facebook), that doesn’t mean you can’t have a hellaciously good time in Sin City. Especially with so many great deals and insane special at hotels on the strip, you also shouldn’t have a hard time booking your Vegas vacation for a whole lot less money than you thought (less money on hotel = more money for booze and gambling).
