I’ll be the first to admit the text is a bit misleading because it’s not like you can fly from New York to Hong Kong for $89 roundtrip or anything, but once you get past that and really look at the prices you’ll see many of these are really cheap, especially for this time of the year.

I’m becoming more of a Funjet fan each time I check their site. They collect the best deals they can find and then put them all on one page. There’s a deal for the next couple weeks where you can fly free to Bermuda. I’m not sure how they make money on that, but I’ll leave that to them. Oh, I see it’s a free companion ticket, but that’s still a hell of a deal if you ask me.

I found out about this coupon code last week, but I saved it specifically for our Monday feature. My fellow coupon code fans are well aware of this, but in case you are new to the game these credit card ones are some of the sweetest codes out there. The reason being, you can search around on Travelocity to find the best deal you can, where it almost seems like a misprint or a mistake of some kind, and then BAM you apply this coupon code for $50 additional off! Woo hoo!

Vacations for ghosts? Not quite

Hammock I received an e-mail recently from someone asking me if it’s true there is now a company that arranges holidays for the dearly departed? The confusion is understandable, but the reality is that Spirit Vacations are for people who are very much alive, and also looking for fantastic bargains: Spirit Vacations – We offer complete vacation packages to the Caribbean, Florida, Las Vegas & Mexico.

If you think about it, why would ghosts need sensational discounts on air and hotel packages to the Caribbean, Florida, Las Vegas & Mexico? If I were a ghost I think I’d hang around a travel agency long enough to learn their internal codes and booking procedure, and then I’d just print my own tickets out after they’ve left for the day.

Air France has a great sale that ends soon

FranceAir If you’ve flown Air France before you know that their transatlantic service is top notch, and now there’s this: Unbelievably low fares on Air France right here.

But what you may not realize is that you can fly from any major US city to any major European city on Air France. This particular sale ends February 11, so there’s no time to waste. You can fly from New York to Barcelona for $198 one-way. I assume you have to change planes in Paris, but it’s centrally located and there are far worse things that stopping at CDG for an hour or two.

When you click on that and go to their page you’ll see that they have really good specials to Mexico, Las Vegas, and the Caribbean. In addition, they have various “last-minute” deals to many of these places as well. I’m a sucker for last-minute savings like this. When a resort offers great deals on the spur of the moment, it usually means they are less busy than they expected to be, so they are trying to fill up rooms and seats.

Students and “teachers” should join STA Travel

The link itself doesn’t give too much information, so I’ll tell you a bit more about it here. Basically, if you are a student or under 26 or a teacher, you can and should join STA Travel’s program. You get a photo ID card and also access to their excellent deals that are only available to these groups.
