Cheap Flights to the Ever Popular Dubrovnik, Croatia

It was just last week when I learned that the word about Croatia being an excellent travel destination has officially gotten out. My mother, who is a wonderful person but a less than intrepid traveler, told me that she was thinking about taking a trip that would include a visit to Dubrovnik, the wonderful historic Croatian town on the Adriatic coast. Her proclamation makes it official. Croatia is no longer a scary place recovering from a war. It is a mainstream tourist destination.

I first went to Dubrovnik a couple of months after the war in the Balkans had ended. It was still an uncertain time and there was still visible damage in the city. Even with that being the case you could get a sense that the place would recover and that it would recover quickly. The same can be said of the rest of Croatia’s coast. It is far too beautiful for people not to be drawn to it.

Flying to Dubrovnik from the United States can be a costly affair, but British Airways is making it a bit more reasonable. They have flights from Atlanta to the Croatian city that are a little above $700 round-trip. That should make travelers like my mother happy and it should make you happy to. Dubrovnik is worth a trip, but you probably have already heard that from someone else.
