Growing up in the West, I was blessed with many opportunities to travel to the often sunny and very beautiful state of California several times before I even reached the age of 18. Since then, living in Oregon has brought even more opportunities to head south and hang out in the warm, sunny California rays, breath in the fog in Dan Francisco and check out the spectacular beauty of the Big Sur coastline. However, for many of those coming from far away, a California getaway may not be quite as accessible (though still totally worth it). As it turns out, if you are looking for a great way to save a few dollars on a weekend getaway, booking your flight and hotel together can be a great way to save yourself some dollars and some money. While you the vacation package route certainly isn’t for everyone, it can be a good way to get a great deal on both a cheap flight to California and a cheap hotel once you get there.
