Have you ever dreamed of visiting France? Have you ever thought that you needed to win the lottery to afford such a vacation? If so, try to think of alternatives for a moment. Especially when you travel with a group of friends, it’s cheaper to rent a holiday apartment rather than book hotel rooms. ”” Holiday Villages in France with PV-Holidays ”
Holiday Apartments vs Hotel Rooms
There are two expenses which make up the bulk of your vacation budget: airfare to France and accommodation. When it comes to the airfare, there are several tricks to find cheaper airfare. Flying during autumn and spring is a great strategy and if you are flexible with your departure/arrival dates you’ll be able to find excellent deals.
When it comes to accommodation, it’s a known fact that France is an expensive destination. Cheap hotels in France do exist but you’ll need to sacrifice either location or facilities. Not to mention that even the cheapest hotels in Paris might give you some headaches when you see the rates.
The alternative? Renting a holiday apartment. First of all, you’ll get a chance to explore the charming French countryside. Secondly, you’ll have all the facilities you are used to at home. You can cook if you feel like or you can head to the restaurant. Prices start at €280 per week for a 4-person apartment. In other words, if two couples are spending the vacation together, each couple will pay €140 per week (or €20 per night). I call that an excellent bargain!
How about other European countries?
The good news is that such holiday apartments are available all over Europe. The prices do vary according to the country and the apartments’ location but, in general, they are more affordable than if you chose a hotel.
For example, studios in Zakynthos , Greece, cost €280 per week (until end-of-October) . They sleep 4 persons and you have all the facilities you need, including AC and TV.
Of course, you also need to consider the cost of the flight to Europe . It’s often a good idea to fly into a large hub (such as London or Paris) and then look for a low-cost flight to get to your vacation destination. Also, consider renting a car as it gives you more flexibility.
